What are Suicidal Thoughts?

Suicidal thoughts are beliefs, thoughts, impulses or images with negative content about oneself, others, and/or the world that push the individual to take his own life. They are consistent with the individual's current emotional state.

Signs of Suicidal Thoughts

Common signs that an individual may be struggling coping with Suicidal Thoughts include the following:

  1. Suicidal thoughts. They are short and spontaneous.
  2. Pessimism about oneself, one's abilities, the world, the future and others.
  3. Experiencing a lot of emotional pain or distress, and losing hope that things can improve.
