Native English-speaking Psychologist in Rome
I am a Native English speaking Psychologist and CBT Therapist in Rome working privately with the expat community. My experience as a psychotherapist includes working with both Italian and English speaking people suffering of a wide a variety of problems. I draw on different therapeutic techniques, among which, emerging approaches to psychotherapy within the cognitive-behavioural framework. I work for the Italian Red Cross in Rome providing support to asylum seekers. My experiences as a psychologist also includes training in a therapeutical community and working with small groups on issues such as stress management and increasing wellbeing. I am a member of the Associazione Clinica Cognitiva of Lazio.
Every human being is unique. This uniqueness is the expression of the way we constructs reality and it is also the specific way we constructs our suffering. Therapy consists of a shared effort towards identifying such uniqueness in terms of both personal coping strategies and vulnerability aspects. This effort also includes identifying a more flexible way to react to events and situations.
The relationship between emotions, thoughts and behaviour is complex. Most of our problems are influenced by how we feel and behave and by the way we think. Exploring these three elements, among others, can help us understand the way we “function” thus reducing the impact of situations and events have on us and that cause us suffering.
I consider myself a sensitive and welcoming person. Helping people activate their own resources allowing them to manage their problems and improve their wellbeing is very rewarding for me.
My personal background, the result of Italian and British cultures, has encouraged the development of my interest and understanding of other cultures, offering me the opportunity to widen my personal and professional knowledge and experience.
When I am not working, I practice sports, read and spend as much time as possible in nature. I also enjoy photography and travelling.
I am a Private English-speaking Psychologist and CBT Therapist in Rome specialized in psychological therapies for adults and couples.
