Negative Thoughts Counselling in London | Treatment & Therapy
What are Negative Thoughts?
Negative thoughts are beliefs, thoughts, impulses or images with negative content about oneself, others, and/or the world. They are automatic, simple and consistent with the individual's current emotional state. Negative thoughts are experienced by all of us at at some time but are more prevalent and extreme whenever we feel stressed, anxious, irritable or low.
Negative thoughts are generally associated with negative feelings such as anxiety, anger, and low mood. Often we are not aware of our negative thoughts as they occur automatically, seem reasonable and believable. However, the worse we feel, the more likely we are to think negatively and believe these thoughts to be true, even though they are unreasonable and unrealistic.

Common signs that an individual may be struggling coping with Negative Thoughts include the following:
- Authomatic negative thoughts. They are short and spontaneous.
