Spanish & English Speaking Counsellor in Rome
I am a Spanish and English speaking counsellor in Rome, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Psychological Society (BPS) in England, as well as the Virginia Board of Psychology in the United States of America. I am skilled and experienced in providing therapeutic services to clients on an individual and group basis. I obtained my doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology in 2008, and I have since worked with a culturally diverse clientele in a wide range of treatment settings, including hospitals, emergency care centres, and community outreach programs.
I am passionate about working collaboratively with clients around issues concerning anxiety, stress management, coping skills training, self-esteem, decision-making, interpersonal problems, adjustment difficulties, communication, personal growth and coaching, and make certain that my services are adapted to their specific needs. As a counsellor, I feel honoured to be allowed to assist clients in developing the necessary skills to reach their goals and improve the quality of their lives.
Throughout my career, I have completed clinical training in a wide range of therapeutic approaches, including cognitive, behavioural and mindfulness-based approaches. However, in my work as a counsellor, I utilise an integrative approach tailored to my clients’ needs and their reasons for seeking services. I aim to create a safe, non-judgmental therapeutic space where I can develop successful working relationships with clients based on respect and understanding in order to maximise the effectiveness of our work together. I believe every person deserves to have services suited to their unique needs, and not the other way around. Therefore, my objective is to actively and collaboratively work with clients in a problem-focused manner. In other words, I work with my clients on the areas of their lives they value as important and in need of improvement. My goal is to support my clients in developing an increased level of awareness of how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours impact on their daily lives, and assist them in developing the necessary skills to overcome the challenges of their daily lives and improve their quality of life.
I can easily say that travelling and meeting people from different cultures has taught me a great deal about who I am as a person and increased my level of understanding of the world and others around me. I enjoy challenging myself to new experiences and embracing new life lessons. I am also very enthusiastic about eating well, whether it is cooking at home or going to a new restaurant, I am always happy whilst searching for my next great culinary discovery.
