Clinical Psychologist in Shoreditch
I am a Clinical Psychologist in Shoreditch registered with the Health Care Professional Council (HCPC), which regulates the profession of Psychologists in the United Kingdom.
My training includes models of psychotherapeutic intervention, both with adults, children and adolescents. I completed the first phase of my training in Italy which included a 5-year course in Clinical and Community Psychology (1994-1999), internship and qualifying examination for the profession in 2002. I then continued my studies in the United Kingdom, mainly at the Tavistock and Portman Clinic, as well as clinical training both for patients in the forensic field and at NHS for the purpose of equating the British qualification and professional practice in psychotherapy. Later my training continued with courses in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy (CBT), accreditation in Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT-A), and EMDR (Level 1, 2 and 3), as well as in Expert Witness Assessment at Cardiff University and Bond Solon.
In the last 18 years I have developed experience in the mental health sector in various public, legal and private contexts in the United Kingdom. Among these, the experience in the context of domestic violence at Home Office, Court report writing for Family Law proceeding in the context of child protection matters and experience in working through Health Insurance Companies (BUPA; AXA, Aviva, etc.). Since 2005 I have been working at the National Health Service in London, and since 2008 I supervise the clinical practice of other psychologists. Since 2018 I also supervise the work of Children Wellbeing Practitioners and Cognitive Behavioural Therapists within the CYP IAPT framework
My therapeutic experience includes patients who present mental and behavioural health problems related to a wide clinical spectrum, in particular: relationship problems, mood disorders, post-traumatic stress disorders, as well as support for parenting, including autism, ADD and ADHD.
Integrity, ethics and professionalism are the most important values in my clinical practice.
The aim of my work is to equip you to cope with difficult situations in a more adaptive way. After identifying the emotional and/or behavioural difficulties that constitute an obstacle for you at present, in the first few sessions we will formulate a treatment plan based on your personal needs. This will include the identification of your therapeutic goals towards the discovery and resolution of these obstacles.
We will, therefore, talk about the most appropriate therapeutic approach as well as the frequency and number of sessions to reach satisfactory results. Depending on the therapeutic approach, in sessions we might go through specific exercises, or you might have a more general discussion about how you are feeling. Your therapeutic journey could be short, medium- or long-term.
In recent years I have been particularly interested in the effectiveness of the available psychotherapeutic models, and the need to invest in validated and evidence-based interventions. Hence, in sessions we will monitor together and regularly our progress to guarantee the achievement of your goals.
I attend monthly clinical supervision to ensure the best results of my therapeutic practice.
I like travelling, playing sports and spending time with family and friends.
I am a Clinical Psychologist in Shoreditch specialised in psychological therapies for children, adolescents, adults, and families.
