Dr Daniela Maroni
Clinical Psychologist in Shoreditch
I am a Clinical Psychologist in Shoreditch registered with the Health Care Professional Council (HCPC), which regulates the profession of Psychologists in the United Kingdom.
My training includes models of psychotherapeutic intervention, both with adults, children and adolescents. I completed the first phase of my training in Italy which included a 5-year course in Clinical and Community Psychology (1994-1999), internship and qualifying examination for the profession in 2002. I then continued my studies in the United Kingdom, mainly at the Tavistock and Portman Clinic, as well as clinical training both for patients in the forensic field and at NHS for the purpose of equating the British qualification and professional practice in psychotherapy. Later my training continued with courses in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy (CBT), accreditation in Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT-A), and EMDR (Level 1, 2 and 3), as well as in Expert Witness Assessment at Cardiff University and Bond Solomon.
In the last 18 years I have developed experience in the mental health sector in various public, legal and private contexts in the United Kingdom. Among these, the experience in the context of domestic violence at Home Office, Court report writing for Family Law proceeding in the context of child protection matters and experience in working through Health Insurance Companies (BUPA; AXA, Aviva, etc.). Since 2005 I have been working at the National Health Service in London, and since 2008 I supervise the clinical practice of other psychologists. Since 2018 I also supervise the work of Children Wellbeing Practitioners and Cognitive Behavioural Therapists within the CYP IAPT framework
My therapeutic experience includes patients who present mental and behavioural health problems related to a wide clinical spectrum, in particular: relationship problems, mood disorders, post-traumatic stress disorders, as well as support for parenting, including autism, ADD and ADHD.
