Private Psychologist London

My Credentials

I am a highly qualified Private Psychologist in London, with excellent people skills, dedicated work ethic and committed to providing the highest standards of psychological services. I am registered with the leading professional organisations within my discipline and licensed to practise in the UK and Italy and Chartered with The Italian Psychological Society. My training is in Clinical, Community and Developmental Psychology, specifically including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, five distinct psychological therapies and lifespan development psychology.

My 10 year training qualifies me as a BSc in Psychology and an MSc in Clinical and Community Psychology from the Salesian Pontifical University of Rome, and an MA in Psychoanalytic Studies from the Tavistock and Portman, accredited by the University of East London. I passed the Licensing Examination for Professional Practice in Psychology (Psy.D) at La Sapienza University of Rome. I attended a course on working with people with eating disorders and body dysmorphia and a preclinical psychodynamic and systemic training on work with children, adolescents and families at the Tavistock and Portman. I completed the Foundation Course and the Post-Foundation Course at the Institute of Psychoanalysis in London.

My education and clinical experience has provided me with a strong background in both individual and group psychological therapies. I am adept at assessment, consultation, counselling and therapy. I have years of experience working in leading institutions in the City of London, including the National Healthcare System, Local Authorities, Private Practice and Charities. My therapeutic experience covers working with under5s and their parents, children, adolescents, adults, older adults, couples and families experiencing a wide range of emotional and behavioural difficulties.

My Approach

I have been in this profession throughout my career, generating and integrating scientific and professional knowledge and skills to improve the professional practice of psychology and human welfare. It is a field I feel extremely passionate about. I find great reward in seeing my clients successfully complete treatment and make profound, significant and positive changes in their lives.

My training has included various structured therapy programmes and counselling techniques including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Mentalization-based Treatment (MBT), Psychodynamic Counselling, Play Therapy, Parent-Infant Therapy, Parent-Child Therapy, Gestalt and Humanistic Therapy.

My recent work includes interventions in cases of anxiety, depression, borderline personality disorders, dysfunctional family issues, neurodevelopmental issues, learning disabilities, self-harm, eating disorders, suicide and parental abuse. I am highly skilled in assessing and treating severe psychological disorders, especially avoidant and borderline personality disorder as well as addiction and eating disorders.

Throughout my training and employment, I have consistently provided my clients with the highest quality of care and treatment possible, regardless of the situation. I am able to perform swift and accurate assessments, even in emergency situations, and have strong experience in crisis intervention and risk management. I pride myself on my ability to engage with clients who present with anger issues, eating disorders, addictive and impulsive behaviours, as well as with histories of emotional, interpersonal and behavioural difficulties.

About Me

I love to travel and am now particularly interested to see more of South America and South East Asia. I practice hot yoga regularly and also love jogging and exercise.
