English speaking Psychologist in Milan
I am an English-speaking psychologist and psychotherapist, registered with Lombardia Regional Council of Psychologists.
I graduated in Clinical Psychology in Caserta in 2006 and after qualifying as a psychologist, I decided to move to Milan to continue my studies and expand my job opportunities.
I started working in occupational psychology, where I still offer consultancy for some projects such as skills’ assessment, change management, coaching and training. This area allowed me to get in touch with different international realities, having the opportunity to travel abroad and get to know other cultures in more depth.
After obtaining the diploma of specialization in psychotherapy, I decided to undertake the private activity, offering psychological support to teenagers, adults, couples and families.
I am currently working as a private practitioner offering support with problems related to anxiety, depression, relational difficulties, eating disorders, phobias, addictions, trauma, personality disorders, panic attacks, post-traumatic stress disorder, intra-family violence.
Often elaborating the need to address a psychologist requires a long incubation period, in which the person becomes aware of his/her discomfort and the difficulty in facing it with his/her own resources. For this reason, the first meeting with the therapist represents a moment full of emotions and expectations, often accompanied by states of anxiety and the need for acceptance. During the first meetings, I try to collect what my patient tells me, often like a river in full flow, guiding them towards a focus of their needs and therapeutic goals. It is essential to create from the outset a serene context where the patient can feel welcomed and protected, a free and non-judgmental environment.
The patient's story, through the genogram, is an important starting point for learning about family, emotional and social relationships, exploring the various generational levels. Then, through the use of questions, we explore together the individual resources, which will be useful in the psychotherapeutic journey.
My approach is primarily systemic-relational, permeated by psychoanalytic and cognitive influences to be tailored for specific needs. In general, I believe in the theory as a guide but, that one should not stop observing and listening to what the person expresses with the body and tells me with the voice.
In recent years I have specialized in the treatment of trauma using E.M.D.R. approach.
The therapy journey is a meeting between two experts, on one hand a training and professional experience, on the other the expert of his/her own life, towards which one must approach with respect.
The work as a therapist is extremely stimulating and satisfying for me. It often represents a challenge in which there are complex moments during therapies that cause concern. There is nothing more beautiful and that motivates me more than helping a person, a couple, a family to regain a sense of well-being and serenity.
I love traveling and getting to know other cultures. I am curious about the world and the people around me and I like to exchange views between myself and the people of the places I visit, to know the dynamics and the operations. Relationships are my daily bread, from which I draw positive energy and vitality. Also the choices in my private life have led me to embrace the now very familiar English culture.
Another essential element in my life that recharges me is the sea, which with its colors, sounds and smells stimulates pleasant memories and feelings that are different every time. Since childhood it has always been present in my life and I feel that even today I cannot do without it.
